Join Us for the Coldest Night of the Year!
Oxford House is lacing up our boots and hitting the pavement for the Coldest Night of the Year on February 22, 2025! This isn’t just a walk – it’s a heartfelt movement, driven by compassion, determination, and hope for those facing homelessness and addiction.
Why We Walk
We walk to shine a light on the struggles of those without a warm place to call home, those battling addiction in silence, and those enduring sleepless nights filled with fear and uncertainty. For the men and women Oxford House supports, the journey to recovery is far from easy. Many are not only fighting for their sobriety but also working to rebuild relationships with loved ones and create a brighter future for themselves and their children.
We walk for those displaced by violence and abuse, searching for safety and solace but finding none. We walk for individuals trapped in cycles of isolation, guilt, and despair. These are not faceless statistics; they are real people with real stories. They are our friends, our neighbors, and members of our communities. They remind us that life’s challenges can cause anyone to stumble, and with that stumble, lose their stability.
Step by Step, We Make a Difference
The Coldest Night of the Year is more than a symbolic gesture. Every step taken and every dollar raised directly impacts lives. Funds from this event support Oxford House’s essential programs and services, such as safe housing, food security, mental health support, and pathways to recovery. Each $135 raised provides a month of sober living in an Oxford House – a life-changing opportunity for individuals seeking recovery.
Picture the impact: a warm, safe home shared with supportive roommates, a place where residents not only focus on sobriety but also learn vital life skills like budgeting, cooking, and maintaining a household. Oxford House also connects residents with employment programs, resume-building workshops, and recovery coaches who guide them toward a brighter future. Each step forward helps someone regain stability, safety, and hope.
