Transitional Recovery Housing Program

Pre-Treatment Housing Program

As the demand grows from men and women serious about recovery and in need of safe shelter during the interim period before their treatment, we've seen a surge of contact from detox centres. To address this gap, the Pre-Treatment Housing Program has been designed specifically for those concerned about maintaining their sobriety between detox and the commencement of their treatment.

Effectively treating addiction in Indigenous populations demands a holistic approach that incorporates their unique cultural and historical contexts. This includes blending mainstream and Indigenous treatment methods, fostering connection to spirituality and Indigenous heritage, and addressing key factors such as relationships, sober networks, self-esteem, stable housing, employment, and intergenerational trauma. It's crucial to acknowledge the disproportionate burden of trauma among Indigenous people, often linked to historical atrocities and their ongoing impacts.
