CREATE A MIRACLE AT OXFORD HOUSE

This holiday season, we invite you to join us in supporting "Miracles at Oxford House," a campaign dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals in recovery from addiction. Oxford House Foundation of Canada is on a mission to provide people in recovery with a supportive program and safe home, empowering them to achieve productive, rewarding, clean, sober lives.

Supporting Oxford House means profoundly impacting the lives of individuals affected by addiction in Alberta. With one in five adults directly impacted by addictions, the need for comprehensive support has never been more critical.

Your charitable gift holds significant power, bridging the crucial gap in funding that remains to cover the actual cost of housing our residents - a mere $135 a month for each individual!

Residents at Oxford House take ownership of their sobriety. We implement an evidence-based program that thrives on peer support within a safe and sober living environment. This approach equips individuals with invaluable coping skills, positive support networks, and increased self-efficacy, enabling them to forge a life free from the grips of addiction. Our democratically peer-run houses foster empowerment, self-esteem, leadership skills, and cultivate long-term abstinence.

By bridging the gap in addiction services, Oxford House stands as a beacon of hope, preventing homelessness and the return to abusive situations. Our community-based model offers safe and affordable housing, effectively breaking the cycle of relapse. Unlike programs with predefined end dates, we provide support within the homes for as long as it takes for a resident to feel confident about their ability to abstain from substance use and move into their own place - this aligns with the chronic disease care model. We understand that sustainable behaviour change takes time, peer support, and a structured living environment - all of which we strive to provide.

Our commitment to making a difference is rooted in tangible results. Oxford House residents consistently demonstrate lower relapse rates, heightened self-efficacy, and increased monthly incomes two years after treatment compared to those in regular aftercare programs. Your support not only transforms lives but also strengthens the foundation of our program, fostering hope, resilience, and lasting change.
